Christmas 2019 Reflection and Photos
As Christmas 2019 draws to an end I thought I would reflect on the busy season caught on photos! Gran came to stay on the 18th. On the 21st we had a welcome visit from Adrian and Dee. On the Sunday we opened our doors to neighbours for christmas drinks and an estimated 80 came through the door. On Christmas eve it was the 10th Anniversary of the Arkholme Wagtail Ingleborough walk, this time in mirky wet weather. Campbell joined us for the first time this year, ariving Christmas eve along with Grandma too. On Christmas day Dave, Kate, Lily and Elsie came too, making it 12 for Christmas lunch - we went to their house for a great party and dance on Boxing day, and even Gran managed a short dance to "Don't Stop Me Know". The next day Matt did a very respectable run in the Wansfell Race in Ambleside. Anne and I managed to steel a short walk on Fareleton Knott in between Christmas and New Year, and I followed up with a mountain bike circuit of the same too. On New Years Eve we met the Bardgett Family for a walk in Kentmere followed by lunch and drinks in the Eagle and Child. And as I write this we are poised to go next door to our Neighbours the Duxburys to celebrate New Year.
Thanks to everyone - farwell the 20-teens and here come the 20s! Happy New year 2020 all!

A beautiful week in Sirimioni, Lake Garda
We were very luck in 2019, having a 2nd part to our French holiday, this time in Italy in a lovely family owned hotel called Hotel Catullo on the banks of Lake Garda. Pure perfection, very lucky - you can see all the pictures here.
Paris for the Girls....and a Rendevous
Anne and Helen flew to Paris and spent a weekend sightseeing and shopping in July, whilst the boys were in the Pyrenees. On 22nd July the two parties converged - the boys driving up from their previous Pyrenees trip for a couple of nights together. We all drive home together, All the pictures are here.
Pyrenees Cycling for the Boys
In July, Matt, Angus and Dad, accompained by Richard Bardgett, drove the van down to the Pyrenees and had a few days camping and cycling in the beautiful French Pyrenees near Ageles Argelès-Gazost. This inevitably coincided with the passing theough of Le Tour de France and some ascents of the Col Du Solour and the famous Tourmalet, where the photo below was taken. The full set of photos are here.
Matt's 19th and Angus' Prom
In June Matt turned 19 (where did that year go? He had returned from a great time travelling in New Zealand in May) and on the same day Angus celebrated the end of his GCSE exams with his school Prom. A great fun summers day and the photos tell their own story.
Fathers Day - Trials riding
Dad loves his trals riding and so on Fathers Day in June, Helen and Anne came to watch Angus and Dad take part in a trial near Shap. Helen took a great set of photos here. This was to be Angus' last trial as he sold his bike to focus on cycle racing - more on that later! Dad has really enjoyed his trials with Angus.
With the Chadwicks, Bells and Bols on Anglesey
In March 2019 we had the pleasure to visit Tina and Dave Chadwick in their new place called Tan Lon on Anglesey. Great to be reunited with everyone after so many memories of holidays in Cornwall and Devon in the early noughties. A great beach walk! A few photos here.
Lanzerotte for Phil and Anne
In late February, Phil and Anne managed a 2 day break together on the Spanish Island. A few photos are here.
Glencoe and Tyndrum - February 2019
In Februrary half term, the four of us (Matt was away in New Zealand) had a few days in Scotlend, hoping for snow but it was too mild. We stopped with Gran and Campell on the way, then had opportunity to meet Fiona and Connell, and meet with the other Haygarths who were also staying in the area at Oban.
