We are just back from another belter of a half term. For the 6th year in a row we have joined with our friends 'in a big house somewhere on the south west coastline' - this time we ended up in Mevagissey, the south coast for a change - warm yet waveless. Some high points were the Lost Gardens of Heligan, coastal walks (increasingly one of my great pleasures), a ferry to Falmouth, Valentines night 'Mamma Mia (Honey Honey)' cabaret from the wives and a great big garden for the children to cycle around and play in. Not to mention a bit of fund raising hair bleaching by me and Dave (curtesy of our haiur dressers Poppy and Molly)! As ever we all enjoyed our photographyt and the cream of the groups shots can be viewed here, as well as the rest of Haygarths here.
The life and times of Matthew, Angus and Helen and their associates, as seen through the eyes of Dad Phil.

Once in a lifetime.....
They're saying that the snow that fell on our village on Thursday - Friday is a once in a lifetime event. 55 cm. Stunning fun.....here is a selection of snaps over what has been a fantastically exciting long weekend from South Zeal. It's like living in a ski resort!

A day in the snow
Along with most school children in the country today, our 3 enjoyed a bonus day off due to the snow! Great fun, snowballing, pub lunch (along with half the village) and sledging. Here are the pics.....

Christmas and New Year Pictures
I have posted pictures of the Haygarth Christmas and New Year Holiday - follow the highlighted links in the text to the images. We started with Christmas day and Boxing day with Dave and Kate (Dave also posted some better quality pictures and some from boxing day here). Then we went to Gran's at Milngavie and had a much needed catch up with the Mathiesons, plus a visit to Fiona and Aunt Patsie. After we headed southwards to Kirkby Lonsdale and visited Grandma and Aunty Cindi, Uncle Keith and Robert with a nostalgic dusk walk along the Heysham Cliffs. back home on New years eve Charrlie et al came (sorry no pictures) and later there are some images of Adrian, Dee and Isobel's visit including a lovely crisp dawn hike up Cosdon. Finally there is the '5 familes' annual walk over the moor to Belstone for lunch.

Christmas card from Phil Anne Matthew Angus Helen - 2008
• Phil started a new job at Lancaster University in June and has been commuting due the credit crunch. We hope to move in 2009. Hard times, soon to end, we hope…..
• Anne is ‘flat out Mum’ and district nurse, working 2 days a week and running the Beavers
• Helen, now 3, turned from toddler to girl, loves ballet and singing
• Angus, 6, plays rugby for Okehampton U7s, utterly loves it and scores tries just for fun
• Matthew, 8 plays rugby and is also is a great pianist and keyboard player. Poor Matt has been ill this Autumn with glandular fever (or the likes?) and hopes to get back to normal in 2009
