A 'quiet' weekend
Anne and I are tired at the moment - sleep deprivation, busy at work - so we thought we would keep this weekend simple. Here are some highlights of how we do things 'simple' - with 3 young Haygarths.
Brothers playing in the flour
We won the lottery (well £40) - so we thought it was worth an early glass of Cotes du Rhone
We went swimming in Okehampton pool this morning and it was the first time Helen had been in a pool, she really enjoyed herself. After, Matthew Anne and Dileas walked the last km or so across the field. Here, Angus waits on the wall, smug in the knowledge that he had beaten them home (in the car). History repeating
Today I took Matthew and Angus to a motorcycle trial near Hartland. It reminds me much of my late Dad Norman doing the same with me and my brother when we were of similar age. I still get the same stir of exitement when I hear the engines and smell the 2 stroke oil and it seems my sons feel it too. It also takes me back to happy days of childhood with my Dad, who I miss much. Double whammy.
